My inner man struggles to reconcile my modernistic upbringing, modernistically secular and religious education, modernistic habits and norms, modernistic platitudes et al. with the tension I’m experiencing due to the stimulations of the ‘Emergent’ conversation.
I like ‘common denominators’. I like ‘universal principles’. I like ‘nuggets’ of truth. I like ‘absolutism’. I like ‘pat’ answers. I like the ‘bottomline’. I like ‘clean, sterile, neatly packaged solutions’. I like ‘the simple things in life’. Is it so wrong??? Reductivistic, I am!
But somehow, somehow, I get the sense that God is leading me away from my comfort zone. And looking back, He has for sometime now … maybe I just never realised it.
Well the journey begins … a new blog … the first step.
